The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in Sanctuary worship services through hymns, praise songs, and selected anthems that span the range of musical styles and periods. The Chancel Choir brings the best it can offer God in weekly worship, and also presents special choral works throughout the year. Our calling is to use our musical gifts to tell about God’s abundant love. The Chancel Choir rehearses weekly onWednesday evenings, 6:30 to 8:00 pm from August through May.
For more information, please contact Karen Gengenbach, Chancel Choir Director, at (402) 498-9000.
In the fall, we will also prepare for our special Christmas cantata which will be held on the weekend of December 10 and 11, 2011. A special tradition we enjoy is to feature the children and grandchildren of choir members in the cantata.
Our Chancel Choir sings weekly in worship. We sing at the 8:30 am services on even-numbered months and at the 11:00 am services on odd-numbered months. For special occasions such as Rally Sunday, cantata, Palm Sunday, Easter, and Choir Sunday, we sing at both services.
Our choir sings a variety of musical styles, all with the purpose of glorifying God and sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. We welcome singers of all different ability levels and will work to bring unity and harmony to this important churcg ministry.
If you are interested in joining the Chancel Choir, please contact Karen Gengenbach or David Gerard.
The Chancel Choir sings every week in worship, alternating between the 8:30 am and 11:00 am Sanctuary services. The choir sings at the 8:30 am Sanctuary services on even-numbered months and at the 11:00 am services on odd-numbered months.
The Chancel Choir sits in the choir loft at the beginning of each worship service, helping the congregation sing beautiful hymns and songs as we fill the sanctuary with praise and give glory to God.
After our message of music, or the anthem of the day, the choir members exit the choir loft to join their families in the congregation so that they might worship together. The choir members continue to sing throughout the service from the pews. This tradition allows choir members of all ages to fully participate in choir and still connect with their family through worship.
Praise God for the blessings of so many CPC families who serve the Lord through the music ministry!
