The Covenant Handbell Choir is a group of dedicated people interested in ringing praises to our Lord!
Our bell choir has five octaves of both handbells and handchimes. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm. Normally the bells play twice in the fall and twice in the spring. We usually start rehearsals in late August or early September to play in October and November. After the November performance, we take a long break over Christmas and the new year and resume rehearsals in early February in order to play in March and late April or early May.
Individuals who would like to play in the bell choir should have some music background. Being able to read music is a greast start! Bell ringing is easy to learn, challenging and a ton of fun! We have lighthearted but productive rehearsals with extra rehearsal time as needed (even one on one) to go through your part so that you feel comfortable and confident. We are gaining on our base group of ringers that dedicate their time and talents to the bell choir. We can always use one or two more “regular” ringers and then if we are really fortunate, I can put together a great “substitute” list for those “regular” ringers not able to make it to a Thursday rehearsal or even a Sunday performance.
Child care is available and they also help homework for older kids!
